Category: Remodeling - Topic: Best Practices For Installing Wire Shelves In Closet
It's very simple to install a wire shelving system. Simple installation requires a level, screwdriver, measuring tool (tape, stick) and a saw. Before beginning any DIY project, including replacing closet shelving or drawers, the area should be completely empty. DO NOT try and work around your clothes or previous shelving. When removing previous shelving it's important to make sure all nails, screws and fasteners are removed. These old materials, if left in, will be a nuisance for years to come and could cause damage to your new project. After removing all previous materials, fill the holes with caulk. Patching the holes will ensure no damage is done to your walls or new shelving. The installation should very very straight-forward from the instruction manual. One item that may not be covered in the instruction manual is the importance of the main shelf. Determine its height and work everything off you MAIN shelf. After following the instructions go back and ensure all the screws are tightened.
