Keeping your tile clean is important not only because cleanliness can keep your family health and free from unwanted germs, but also because your tile is secured by grout and if not cleaned regularly, the tile dirt and small germs will build up in the down-spots (grout area) of your tile. It is recommended that all tile be cleaned at least once a week around your home to keep your grout from becoming too dirty too clean. When cleaning your tile, it is also important that you use the correct chemicals. A soap and water mix may be the best choice for areas where water can run off into a drain (like a bathroom or outside hosting area).
If you are cleaning more heavily trafficked areas around the front door you may want to use a stronger chemical. However, try to avoid the use of bleach throughout your house. Bleach can be harmful to your community's water supply and it is not the best chemical to inhale on a regular basis. Cleaning your tile once a week will help your abstain from using stronger chemicals like bleach because your tile will never get too dirty.
