Painting your kitchen cabinets and cupboards can add value to your home renovation and completely change the look and feel of your kitchen. This, however, is not a simple DIY project. First, its never a good idea to paint directly on melamine (what the cupboard boxes are made out of). Painting your cabinet door has its own set of challenges as well. First the cabinet doors must be completed sanded in a dry area. A belt sander could be rented to do this job quickly and efficiently. Once the piece is sanded staining techniques are the best practice to get a high quality end product. If you're painting kitchen cabinets with paint, visit your local painting expert to find the correct paint. And make sure that you always test the paint with another piece of wood where you can compare the test product with your desired look and feel.
