"Reverse Pile" in newly installed carpets is created when carpet seems/threads aren't installed in the same direction. This reverse pile causes your carpet to compress in some areas and not in others. To fix this problem lift up your carpet and turn the carpet to ensure that all seems are running in the same direction. Once this is complete, a steam cleaning will also be able to fix the problem to your "reverse pile" problem
