Pocket doors, though they may be functional and provide good space, once the hinges start going bad they are not fixable without a replacement door. If your pocket doors have begun to fall off on a regular basis, it's time to replace the door with a new pocket door or change the door all together. A good replacement to a pocket door and its common hinge damage is a pre-hung door that opens in the middle. These doors also have hinges but they are more sturdy and longer lasting than a pocket door.
