If you are interested in changing the way your door swings (in to out or out to in) it is important that you pay attention to the jamb of the door. Typically the jamb is 4 and 9/16ths. If this is the case the door has to be hung opposite to how it was hung before. Remove the door, then cut or remove the trimming on the door and finally remove all old nails. Unless you plan on having two door handles to open your door, the handle will have to remain on the opposite side of the door.
If you are unsure about re-trimming the door, it is best to have a professional re-hang your door. If trimming is not done correctly, it could great affect the insulation (if this door opens outside)and life of the door.
