If you are considering moving from tile to carpet consider the following.
1. How much traffic will be flowing through the new areas. Carpet, though very durable, can take traffic much differently than tile. In high traffic areas consider tile as they are easier to clean and maintain.
2. Will your baseboards be changed. A good time to think about changing your baseboards should happen when your are transitioning flooring.
3. Moving from tile to carpet will require some help. When removing the tile, if the baseboards will not be changed, make sure they and the subfloor aren't damaged by your pryers and tools used to remove the tile.
4. The tile, if it is brought up correctly, can be re-used somewhere else in your home. Make sure to keep the tile, if it is in good condition. The tile may be able to be used in the future in your bathroom, hallway, or new remodel
