Category: Bathroom - Topic: Flooring Replacing Carpet With Vinyl

Removing carpet can be a simple task if you know what you’re doing. When removing the carpet make sure the track strips is removed and all nails and staples have been taken out from the baseboards/subfloor. Everything has to be removed as you’ll need a nice surface to resinstall carpet or add your new flooring. Also, sanding is not always a nessecary function. Unless it is done professionally, it can be messy and your baseboards should not have been signficantly altered from the carpet. Many DIY’ers and professionals use Luan over their baseboards and patch the seams so there is a smooth surface to lay your hardwood or vinyl flooring. If this project seems overwhelming and you are not familiar with replacing carpet, its best to call a professional and seek their professional work or at least a bit of advice
