Category: Bathroom - Topic: Renovating Your Bathroom Shower And Making It Barrier Free
Barrier free showers (no doors or curtains)are becoming very popular renovations. A barrier free show can be built with some DIY expertise or with a professionals help. If you're going it alone, there are four main steps that you need to cover. First a solid base must be created. The base will hold the water and most importantly protect the shower from overflowing. Next, place the floor down using plywood (plywood will do the job), then cement the floor and place flex bond on the floor. Build out the shower area large enough that water isn't spraying outside the shower (4sq ft radius of perpendicular space should do). From there you can place ceramics on the wall and grout the ceramic tile.
