Category: Building-Remodeling - Topic: Choosing The Correct Sandpaper
If you're thinking about remodeling your household, or simple fixing that old grout around your bathroom, chances are that sandpaper will be involved in the project. Sandpaper, because it comes in many different forms and can be used via machine or with your own hand.
When buying sandpaper remember that it is sold by grit number. The higher the grit number, the
finer the end product finish. To remove existing finishes use a grit grade of 80 to 100.
When selecting the paper you choose between aluminum oxide and garnet types of sandpaper. Choose aluminum when you're using it for general use and look to use garnet paper when you are sanding between layers and on varnish.
To ensure you're using the right sandpaper, always talk to the experts at your local hardware store, describe your project and have them help you choose the appropriate sandpaper.
