Soffit vents come in two types. Individual vents are cut to fit in between your soffit joists and instillation is a one man job. Continuous soffit vents are long and narrow and run the length of your home's eaves. They're a little more complicated to install and you may want to recruit a friend to help you, but the task can easily be accomplished in a weekend. If you don't have the right power tools, it may be more cost effective to hire a building contractor for the job.
