Category: Waterproofing - Topic: Condensation Water On Windows
Condensation inside your house during winter months is very common. Condensation is created from moisture on the outside of your home and also from household appliances on the inside. When cold air and warm air meet moisture is created and condensation is formed. Though condensation is a sign that cold air is reaching your home, it isn't always a necessary worry, as long as your home continues to remain warm. Condensation and humidity work together. The humidity in your house can be controlled by openings windows a crack, (not the best idea in very cold winter months) reducing your humidifier, running fans, and opening blinds. Humidity can also be controlled by purchasing large plastic sheets and placing them over your windows. This will help protect your home from cold air and condensation's during winter months. These plastic sheets can be purchased at any local hardware store. The plastic around the windows(the area where most condensation occurs) will also protect your house from draft and cold air.
