Dirty hardwood floors are clear signs that you have not kept up the regularly needed cleaning of your home. Eventually, if the hardwood floor is not cleaner, the dirt will pull together and form dry, sticky black spots throughout your hardwood flooring. Removing this dirt and grime from your hardwood floor, however, is a simple task. To clean hardwood flooring use a mix of water and mild soap. When cleaning the floors use as little water as possible and ensure you're working with lots of soap subs. The soaps subs will grab the dirt. Using too much water will simply spread the dirt around. After the floor has been washed completely, you may have to scrub out the remaining dirty, sticky spots on your hands and knees.

You can remedy these problems by briefly sweeping your hardwood flooring weekly and cleaning up any heavy dirt immediately.
