When nailing baseboards make sure you drive the nail into the stud. This will secure the baseboard and ensure the floor and walling our secure. An 18 guage nailer should be used for the baseboards. Occasionally your wood could being to split. If this happens for drill a hole (a measure smaller than the nail), to help ease the nail through the wood and into the stud.
