Category: Lighting - Topic: Controlling And Stopping Buzzing Lights

Buzzing in your lighting will often occur when you are using a dimmer switch with voltage that isnt spec’d correctly for the particular dimmer switch. What’s happening is that you’re overloading your dimmer switch. The remedy is to purchase a low voltage dimmer switch and replace your current switch. This is a very common problem when DIY’ers attempt to install lighting and work with electricity. As important as it is to understand form, you must also understand how each specific lighting and electrical product work together correctly. If the problem continues after switching to the correct dimmer, different fixtures may have to be used when working with the dimmer switch.
