Category: Windows - Topic: Removing Silicone Sealant Around Skylights
Silicon sealant is some of the strongest materials used to seal your windows and skylights. Though the strength is great for longevity, silicone can be very difficult to remove, if needed. There are many products in big- box stores that claim to be able to strip silicon and thought they may remove some of the silicon sealant, its nearly impossible to remove it all without using a stripping blade and sandpaper. Make sure that when scraping silicon off any surface, there attention paid to the surface itself. Scratching surfaces around your windows will look gaudy and damage the overall value of your home.
