An uneven basement floor may or may not be a problem. Many basement floors where built with uneven floors to drain any moisture that may enter your basement through the walls or flooring. These uneven areas are susceptible to cracks from foundation shifts. Keep an eye on these cracks in case they become more than 1/4" in size. Basement floors that are uneven, simply because the concrete subfloor was laid incorrectly, could signal an insecure foundation or unstable home. These problems should only be diagnosed by a professional who has been in the industry for a many number of years
