Category: Chimney - Topic: Thick Creosote Chimney

If you have an older masonry chimney or chimney that has a lot of use, you might notice a thick layer of creosote on the inside of the flue. These very thick creosote deposits are hard to chemically remove, and seem resistant to a cleaning log. You might want to call a chimney sweep who can use an appropriate steel brush to scrape off the hardened residue or recommend a product that can do the cleaning.
