Category: Appliances - Topic: Duct Or Ductless Ventilation Systems

There are many pros and cons of ductless range hood ventilation systems. Both ducted and ductless ventilation systems are designed to remove grease, odors and moisture from the air. The best quality ductless systems will remove odors and grease from the kitchen, but because the recirculation of the existing air, they don't remove any moisture. This often is an offset by the fact that ventilation system isn’t removing conditioned air (i.e. air that was warmed by your furnace in the winter) from your home. If you're doing a redo, installing a ductless system can save you money, and open up some options for you on appliance placement since you won't have to install new ductwork, or be restricted by the existing ductwork when choosing where to place your stove or cook top.
