Category: Appliances - Topic: How To Change A Recirculation Fan

Sometimes when deciding to modify the range hood in the kitchen from a recirculation fan to an external fan some drilling may be involved. This almost always means drilling through the outside wall. One such problem to avoid when doing so, and primarily to be concerned about is running into a stud. Often range hoods seem to have only one way to exit out, and that is the back of the range hood, and not out the top. This situation can be easily modified and made a whole lot easier by purchasing a new hood fan that is designed to function as an exhaust fan, and not attempt to modify the unit you have.
