Category: Appliances - Topic: Leaking Dishwasher Steps To Diagnose
If your dishwasher has been leaking around the door first inspect the gasket. The gasket is the rubber strip inside the edge of the door. This is often the problem that is causing leaking. If the strip (gasket) looks as though it's in good condition it may be the door that is causing the leaking. The "door catch" is the point at which the door closes. Readjusting the positioning of the door may stop the leak. You can easily loosen the screws on the door reposition it, then re-tighten the screws. If you do need to buy a gasket, remove the damaged one and bring it with you to your local appliance expert. They'll be able to help you select the appropriate gasket. When installing the gasket it should fit very snug. You may have to use household lubricant or soapy water to install. If the dishwasher continues to leak, call your appliance expert to have an inspection done on your dishwasher.
