Starting a grape vine from a fresh start can be a very enjoyable experience.
There are several ways to do this, but taking hard wood cuttings
at the end of the growing season or half bud cuttings in late spring are often said to work well. Take one foot hardwood cuttings and plant them at a depth of around 8-10 inches in soil prepared in such a way as not become water logged. These typically will
start to grow the next growing season and give you a start at strong young vines.
