Painting over areas that have been chipping, scraped or have holes should only be done when that area has been correctly Spackled, sanded and primed. If you have several chips and scrapes on your wall and are planning to repaint the area use spackle to manage the consistency and depth of your wall. Be generous with the Spackle as it can be sanded down if too much is used. If the consistency and depth are not even with the rest of the wall your new painting project will look unprofessional and could cause the “perceived” value of your home to drop in price. Hiring a painting professional for these type projects will ensure it is done correctly and the final product will meet your satisfaction requirements.
