The main function of plumbing, to push water and waste around your house. Water supplies enter into your home through a pressurized system from a spring or municipal supply. Once the cold water enters, it is either warmed or continues on through the piping and into your plumbing fixtures. Typically this water enters your house in 1" to 1 1/2" diameter piping and then is distributed in 1/2"-1" diameter piping where the pipes are sent through fixtures in 3/8" piping.
