Category: Plumbing - Topic: Rusty Colored Water Not Always Cause For Concern
Rusty colored water coming from your water lines depends on the valve that is delivering the water. Rusty colored water coming from your hot water valve is probably coming from your water heater. After 10 years or so, water heaters, if not used on a daily basis will allow the mineral in the water to build causing the mineral water (rusty look). If the water is coming from your cold water line, this may be because you have galvanized piping. Don't fear, as letting the water run for a few minutes should remove the rusty colored mineral water.
