You may occasionally hear a neighbor talking about an AC unit he's been running for 40 years. Any unit that old should be considered for replacement. A unit that old may cause overflow electricity into your house, increase your energy bills and break constatntly. It's more cost effecitve, over the long term, to purchase a 90% energy efficient unit.
