Sometimes the air conditioner freezes up and ices over during the heat of summer. You might notice water leaking on the floor. There are usually only a few main reasons this might happen.

Another reason is that the evaporator coil could be clogged with dirt, mold, mildew or debris . Clogging would result in diminished air flow through the coil, and cause the coil to freeze.
