Mold growth problems are serious concerns. Even for new homeowners, those that have old furnaces can still produce condensation and create mold. If the furnace is running and causes your apartment, condo or home to smell musty and/or make you cough, mold may be the issue. This issue can occasionally be caused when you only have a 90% efficient furnace. The 10% can cause condensation and eventually show mold damage. Mold problems can also be caused by tiny drain hoses that are plugged. Disconnecting the plug from the house and running the water into a bucket is not even the proper short-term solution. If this is the case, you need to have your furnace worked on as soon as possible. If the problem is your furnace, and not the mold you'll be happy to know that servicing the furnace could fix your problem.
